Witchcraft Emporium Courses In association With Tir Na n’Og

The Venue

All our courses are held at Tir na n’Og, a Celtic name meaning “Otherworld”, “Faery Realm” or “ Land of Eternal Youth ”. Tir na n’Og is situated on the beautiful Somerset Levels about 4 miles outside Glastonbury , the fabled Isle of Avalon. It is situated in 10 beautiful acres part of which is natural woodland and the rest is made up from meadowland and wetland. It is surrounded by a nature reserve with an abundance of flora and fauna and is a bird watchers and ramblers paradise! The land itself is very ancient and sacred with an enveloping healing quality, making Tir na n’Og and ideal place to retreat from the rigors of life for a while and get back to basics whilst reconnecting with Nature and the Self.

Susie , Mike and their family are the guardians of this magical place and have created this beautiful space from a personal vision. Their love of the place is evident everywhere you look and they have all worked hard to see their vision bear fruit. They have created a Meditation Room with adjoining Healing Temple complete with a Pyramid. There is also a 30’ Ceremonial Tipi with plans for several other smaller Tipi’s to come.

Raven Circle, the Coven with which Morwenna and I work, has been most privileged to have been allowed to use Tir na n’Og as their Coven Stead and as such we have had first hand experience of how magical the Land here is. We have worked here for over a year now and at times have felt truly moved by what this land has to offer, lending itself to all kinds of ritual and magical work. The Gods are certainly alive in Tir na n’Og!! As a coven we have performed everything from Handfastings to Initiations and Rites of Passages, all in the wild but safe environment of this fantastic landscape.

We all feel that this landscape is indeed a special place and would like to offer to others the chance to experience the magic of it whilst learning the Craft of The Wise. Our courses are designed to make full use of this landscape throughout the Seasons, coming out of the classroom at every opportunity to put the theory into practice and to “work” on the land itself.

Spellcrafting Course (£225)

This two day course is an introduction to the world of Magic and of Casting Spells. Spell Crafting is traditionally seen as the Arte of Witches and has been employed by them for hundreds of years to help others as well as themselves. However it is a process that once understood can be used by many to enhance their lives. At its most basic level Spell Crafting is the Magical Arte of creating a desired outcome through the use of Magic by blending certain ingredients together that all vibrate on the same or similar level as that of the desired intent. This course aims to teach the basics of this ancient Arte and to explain simply how we can use it to enhance our lives and the lives of others. The course will include:

Ethics of Spell Craft
Materials commonly used in Spell Craft
How to build your Spells
The power of words
Sympathetic magic
Building Energy
Harnessing the power of the Moon
Simple magical correspondences
Candle magic
Poppet magic
Knot Magic
Healing Ritual using Spell Craft

The course aims to be as practical as possible and will be very hands on enabling the student to experience the whole process of Spell Crafting from the theory to the practical. Most of all, the course is an introduction to the world of magic in its simplest and most creative form. By the end of the weekend the student should be able to cast simple spells and will have enough knowledge and confidence to be able to take their Spell Craft further and develop their own skills within this ancient Arte.

Samhain Course with Ritual and Dumb Supper (£250)

This two day residential course will look at what Samhain is and what it means to us. It will look at the role of the Goddess and God at this time of year, at our Ancestors and how we can honour them. We will look at the traditional magical ideas of this time of year – fortune telling, mirror work, deep mediation. We will examine our fears around death and how we can look more positively at this. We will honour those loved ones that have gone into Spirit, by building an Alter to them and remembering them as they were/are – a very moving ceremony. We will talk about the Dumb supper, what it means and symbolises. The course will include a full Samhain Rite and Dumb supper on the Saturday evening. Also included will be the following:

Dressing a Samhain Altar
Aspect of the Goddess/God at this time
Honouring the Ancestors
Looking at our own mortality
Samhain traditions
Being with those who have gone before
Scrying
Full Samhain Ritual
Dumb Supper
Samhain Magic

This course has proved to be a moving and very positive experience for all those who have taken part. It brings us closer to an awareness of life after death and helps us to celebrate the things we hold dear in life. It is a positive experience in looking at the things we need to let go of to be able to move forward in our lives with joy.
